Making Unforgettable Memories: Wendy Sealetse and ZeroBase Travel

Making Unforgettable Memories: Wendy Sealetse and ZeroBase Travel

October 1, 2025

Wendy Sealetse

In a world where travel can often feel overwhelming, filled with endless choices and uncertainty, Wendy Sealetse has made it her mission to simplify the journey. As the Founder and CEO of ZeroBase Travel, Wendy transforms her lifelong passion for exploration into a business that helps others make unforgettable memories. Beyond her professional role, she is a devoted wife and mother, cherishing the balance between family life and her work of creating meaningful travel experiences.

A Quiet Yet Observant Childhood

Growing up, Wendy describes herself as quiet but always observant. She often stood up for her classmates when they needed a voice. That early sense of advocacy, combined with a natural curiosity, shaped the resilience and empathy she carries into her business today.

Building ZeroBase Travel

ZeroBase Travel Services

ZeroBase Travel is more than just a booking agency. It offers corporate and leisure travel services, crafting tailor-made trips that reflect each client’s unique needs. Whether it’s a corporate retreat, a family getaway, or a customized birthday tour, Wendy and her team focus on the details that matter most.

“We make travel effortless and enjoyable. Our clients don’t have to worry about scams or uncertainties. We carefully vet accommodations and service providers so they can focus on what really matters — making memories.”

Services That Stand Out

ZeroBase Travel Packages

Their packages range from customized birthday getaways and wine-tasting retreats to Mozambique tours, Mpumalanga group adventures, and Cape Town experiences.

Overcoming Challenges

Like many entrepreneurs, Wendy’s early journey was not without obstacles. Access to financing was one of the biggest hurdles, delaying her ability to invest in marketing and resources. But instead of giving up, she leaned on her faith and perseverance.

“If you believe in God, embrace that faith fully, for you will draw strength from His supernatural support.”

When COVID-19 shut down international travel, Wendy quickly pivoted to focus on the local tourism market in Gauteng. By building strong relationships with local business owners, ZeroBase Travel survived while many agencies shut down — and today, local tourism remains a strong part of the company’s profits.

A Vision for the Future

Looking ahead, Wendy dreams of building an intimate lodge and events venue complete with an on-site office and a small fleet of vehicles to serve her clients better. This long-term vision reflects her belief in growth that benefits both her business and her community.

Philosophy and Motivation

Every morning, Wendy begins her day by responding to client requests, but at a deeper level, she is fueled by the knowledge that her success depends on her determination.

“Each challenge has made me stronger. Every hardship taught me resilience and every success fueled my determination.”

Integrity also anchors her decisions. She refuses to compromise on values, choosing to step away from situations that do not align with her principles.
